GARDEN SITE: Part Shade to Full Shade. Rich, Humusy, Medium moisture, Well-drained Soil.
SIZE: 1 – 1½ ft. Spread 1 – 1½ ft.
FLOWERS: Yellow blooms April - May
WILDLIFE: Attracts Bees and Moths
ZONE: 4-8
Spring Ephemeral (plants go dormant in late spring). “Sessile” in the name means that the flowers are born without a stem. Excellent when massed in a shaded woodland garden, naturalized area or wildflower garden. Not recommended for the perennial border.
About: This native trillium grows to a height of 1-1 ½ feet. It produces yellow blooms April to May. Like many other trilliums, it boast beautiful mottled foliage in addition to its bloom.
